The Sunday Wildflower Bouquet #4
A weekly recap: life, writing, reading, new finds, weekly quote, musings.
Thank you for reading this weekās The Sunday Wildflower Bouquet. A bouquet of wildflowers is a collection of flowers gathered from a wild, untamed placeāmuch like the environment here at Substack.

Life Happenings
Iām grateful to all my subscribers, followers, and readers. Thank you for the ā¤ļøās, comments, and restacks.
A special thank you to
of Meditations on Nature | Korean-style Sijo poems for recommending Sacred Environment to his readers ššæš Looking for something to read this summer? I recommend
ās serialized novel, Coincidence Speaks. Chapter 18 was published this weekāIāve linked to the first chapter.I wrote what I consider to be my first real short story, She Who Walks Softly. Iāve received some lovely and encouraging comments and DMs. Seeing words and ideas flow onto the screen was an exciting process. Although not what I expected, the story was set up to grow into a novelāa dream I didnāt know if I still wanted until now. I believe the Universe wants it to happen. I have pages of notes and ideas that came to me while writing, and are still comingāideas to grow this into a novel.
Today marks two months of Sacred Environment on Substack. Iām honored to have reached 139 subscribers (all posts are always free but a subscription ensures you see my writing), and very grateful to you, all my followers, and casual readers. There has been a lot of Substack discussion about the importance of turning on paid subscriptions, even if all posts are free to read. I donāt want to feel the pressure of the āhave toā get a post written to meet a schedule so Iām sticking with the one-time donation/tip jar model. Thank you to those who have contributed, it has gone towards an annual Substack subscription to improve my inspiration and writing.
š Iāve decided to mostly unplug for the month of July, possibly August as well. I will be back, I love it here. I have several household and yard projects I need to work on. Simplification and minimalismāeven to the point of cleaning the ājunk drawerā š. Living on the coast becomes more stressful during hurricane season, especially with occasional flooding becoming more routine now. Having less to worry about is, well, less to worry about. So, a late spring cleaning and creating more spaceāsacred space. I wish you a wonderful summer, or winter! š
To help regulate and heal an overstimulated nervous system, I will be reading more from physical books with almost no screen time. I will continue to keep up with my writing practice and
ās Writing in the Dark Curriculum and teachings.
