I love writing in ink with a proper fountain pen. It’s a special experience! For my usual notes I use pencil.

I usually use a pencil as well. I thought for journaling it would be nicer.

My fountain pen needs a service, I think. It’s gone all scratchy!

Maybe a cleaning? My dip pen nibs for drawing will sometimes get a paper fiber stuck or a fleck of dried ink.

I’ll try rinsing it through ✨

I use my fountain pen from time to time, and I have a few inks--Caran D'Ache-- that I like to try out. I also have my special box of Blackwing pencils. It is a special treat for myself. I write out by cursive longhand every day, in my journal, making shopping lists, etc. I enjoy the feel and sound of the writing tool on paper.

I'm looking forward to seeing your contributions! And also having a fountian pen is an essential haha. I got mine recently and it's awesome. I'm big fan of making yourself feel like a writer with stuff like cool notebooks, pens or mechanical keyboards. They won't make you a better writer, but there is a good chance you'll write more with them!

Mechanical keyboard? Like a regular computer keyboard? Or, I googled and Amazon sells mechanical keyboards that look like a typewriter and have typewriter keys--those look very cool! I use Focus Writer for writing software, quite basic but you can turn on sound for a typewriter experience.

They are keyboards that have mechanical switches under the keys, regular keyboards have membrane switches. The mechanical ones have better feedback and often produce sounds that I really like. It’s a huge rabbit hole to dive into, there is thousands of variations and you can build your own customized keyboard to fit your preferences 😁

Thank you. My quick peek showed lots of styles. I'll probably make due with my new pen and the keyboard I have (its keys click so maybe I already have one). Well, just looked it up and my keyboard is mechanical 😎 The ones with typewriter style keys are cool though.

Thanks for mentioning me Tania. I also use a fountain pen to write my notebook. But when I think I am ready, I write the final draft in the computer

Great that you bought a fountain pen! I must dig mine out. I love your word for the year. Connection is something we definitely need to foster. My word of the year is trust, and it’s been really interesting to see how it’s appearing in so many different ways as the year unfolds.

Oh, I could see where trust could appear in lots of different ways. Maybe I should have chosen trust to work with before connection 😂

Or maybe you need to make the right connections where trust can grow…
